OUR CAUSE

Breast Cancer Society of Canada is dedicated to saving lives through breast cancer research. Money raised goes to funding patient-focused research for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of breast cancer. Your Peplos purchase helps fund the path to a cure.

OUR STORY

2011 is a year I will never forget. I was juggling with being a new mom to a 1 year old and balancing working and family. And then the news hit…my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I still feel sick to my stomach as I remember the constant worry and feeling helpless. As I reached out to friends and family for support, I heard story after story about breast cancer affecting the lives of their loved ones.

We all have family, friends, coaches, teachers, and co-workers who have had breast cancer.

In fact, 1 in 8 women are expected to develop breast cancer during her lifetime. On average 74 Canadian women are diagnosed with breast cancer every day, and tragically, 14 die.

When we founded Peplos, we wanted it to be more than just about physical support. Peplos is more than a product… it’s a mission. We support and empower all women by donating a portion of every sale to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada. Every dollar donated today is one step closer to helping someone survive breast cancer tomorrow. To kickstart our fundraising campaign, we have made a starting donation of $5,000 to support this worthy cause.

Even if you don’t purchase a Peplos product, we encourage you to remember and support those who have had breast cancer, and help those who will be affected by breast cancer in the future by giving generously to causes that support research, treatment, and recovery.

I hope that my daughter, and all the girls out there today, get to see the day that we find a cure.

Peace and love,
