Showcase raises $25K for Fort McMurray fires
May 9th, 2016
Showcase is proud to announce that it raised $24,652 in a donation drive this weekend for the Fort McMurray fires.
Founded in Edmonton and with stores across Alberta, including a store in Fort McMurray years ago, we have been touched by the Alberta fires. And like all Canadians, we have been moved by the photos, videos, and stories of the tragedy unfolding in the affected areas. Staff across the country and at Head Office have asked how we can help. This weekend, we launched a Red Cross donation drive in stores, with every dollar in customer/staff donations matched by the company. The total donation is being further matched by the Federal Government. Between the donations and matching, we raised $24,652 for the Red Cross relief fund. We will continue to accept donations in store going forward.
Thank you to our staff and our customers for their kindness and generosity. Beyond this corporate initiative, we have heard heart-warming stories of individual contributions by many Showcase family members. We encourage everyone to contribute in their own way to support our fellow Canadians in need.
